CAPAC — Capac will send two girl grapplers on to the MHSAA individual state finals scheduled for March 3-4 at Detroit’s Ford Field.
Those competitors earned the right to test their mat skills there with top-four weight class placings last Saturday at the regional blue 2 in Hartland.
Cierra Helzer had the best Capac showing that day, claiming a third. Helzer concluded the day by pinning Dewitt 105-pound foe Ava Byars with 2:04 gone.
Ava Klink added a fourth to Capac’s cause. Klink wrapped up her run at 155 pounds with a 6-0 loss to Frankenmuth’s Nevaeh Gleeson.
