IMLAY CITY — Imlay City obtained a 43-28 win against visiting Cros-Lex in a Blue Water Area Conference varsity girls’ basketball meeting last Thursday night.
With the final, Imlay City improves to 14-4 and 9-2.
In Thursday’s meeting, Imlay City took a 15-2 advantage after one quarter was done and widened the gap to 28-8 at the halftime break.
When the action resumed, Cros-Lex bounced back with a 14-8 third quarter edge. That trimmed their deficit to 36-22 with 24 minutes gone.
Imlay City then outscored Cros-Lex 7-6 the rest of the way, good for a 43-28 win at night’s end.
Lily Lengemann (10 points, including three trifectas) led Imlay City. The Spartans also had Chloe Bruman (nine, featuring a trey), Brie Hund (eight, with a triple), Alexa Lengemann (six), Alyssa Evans (four), Hannah Carney (a trifecta) and Natalie Stone (three) reach the scoring column.
