
Imlay City’s Christopher Galiana, Tanner Land, Dominic D’Ambrosio, Anthony D’Ambrosio and Latham Perry turned in individual regional-qualifying performances last Saturday.
IMLAY CITY — The Imlay City wrestling team qualified five wrestlers to this Saturday’s Division 3 regional in Richmond.
They moved on with top-four weight class showings at a Mount Morris-based district last Saturday.
Dominic D’Ambrosio and Anthony D’Ambrosio led Imlay City with firsts. The former advanced to the 132-pound championship bout where he claimed a 7-0 win over Lakeville’s Nathan Hecht and the latter reached the title bout at 150 pounds where he picked up a 4-3 victory over Yale’s Jeremy Griffith.
Tanner Land provided Imlay City with a second. Land reached the 113-pound championship bout where he was pinned by Algonac’s Chris Campbell with 3:50 gone.
Christopher Galiana contributed a third to Imlay City’s cause. Galiana closed out his run with a 7-2 triumph against Yale’s Logan Winters at 120 pounds.
Latham Perry notched the other Imlay City placewinning performance, bringing home a fourth. Perry wrapped up 215-pound action with a 3-2 loss to Lakeville’s Blake Lalonde.
