IMLAY CITY — Imlay City wound up on the losing side of a 52-38 verdict to visiting Blue Water Area Conference varsity boys’ basketball counterpart Richmond last Friday night.

With the final, Richmond raises their mark to 13-1 and 7-0. Imlay City drops to 7-7 and 5-2.

In Friday’s contest, Imlay City took a 12-11 edge after one quarter was done.

The middle two quarters saw Richmond accumulate 26 points and Imlay City manage 21, putting them ahead 37-33 with 24 minutes gone.

Richmond then outscored Imlay City 15-5 from that point on, assuring themselves of a 52-38 win at night’s end.

Zander Nash paced Imlay City with 14 points. The Spartans also had JD Trout (12 points), Beau Hund (six), Greg Pawlaczyk (four) and Matt Evans (two) reach the scoring column.
