Dryden’s Jacob Burgess keeps the ball just out of the reach of a Mount Clemens counterpart during their non-league battle last Thursday.

DRYDEN — Dryden saw to it they would prevail, securing a 60-48 victory over visiting Mount Clemens in a non-league varsity boys’ basketball game last Thursday night.

With the outcome, Dryden goes to 8-6 this season. Mount Clemens drops to 0-10 overall.

In Thursday’s game, Dryden jumped out to a 17-8 advantage after one quarter was over with and stretched that cushion to 31-18 at the halftime break.

Mount Clemens then outscored Dryden 30-29 the rest of the way, only to fall 60-48 when the final second ticked off the clock.

Dylan Ledford (19, including a trifecta), Dorian Lewis (12, featuring a pair of treys) and Jacob Burgess (10) led Dryden with double digit point totals. They were backed by Noah Slagle (nine points, with a triple), Jaylin Taylor (seven) and Sonny Coscione (three).
