TRI-CITY AREA — Imlay City returned from Almont with a 63-53 overtime victory in a Blue Water Area Conference varsity boys’ basketball clash last Friday night.
With the final, Imlay City moves to 7-6 and 5-1. Almont slips to 4-9 and 1-6.
In Friday’s clash, Imlay City took a 13-11 edge after one quarter was over with.
The next two quarters saw Almont hit for 29 total points and Imlay City manage 25, leaving the former up 40-38 with 24 minutes gone.
Imlay City then bounced back with a 14-12 fourth quarter edge, making it 52-52 at the end of regulation play.
The next four minutes of action would see Imlay City amass 11 points and Almont generate one, leaving the former with a 63-53 win to celebrate at night’s end.
Beau Hund (20, including three trifectas), Zander Nash (18, featuring a pair of treys), and Greg Pawlaczyk (15, with two triples) paced Imlay City with double figure outputs. They were backed by JD Trout (seven points) and Isaac Sommer (a trifecta).
For Almont, Clay Roszczewski (26 points, featuring six triples) proved toughest to stop. The Raiders also had Marko Radisavljevic (14 points, including a trifecta), Cam Bourdeau (six, featuring a trey), Jason Lane (a triple) along with Cole Walton and Sully Szlaga (two each) reach the scoring column.
