Citizen of Year, Merit Award recipients to be announced
IMLAY CITY — This Saturday, Feb. 4, the Imlay City Area Chamber of Commerce honors some of the community’s most outstanding citizens and organizations during the annual Chamber Gala at Castle Creek Golf Club in Lum.

Imlay CIty Schools Supt. Dr. Stu Cameron presents the Chamber of Commerce’s 2021 Citizen of the Year Award to school Board President Sharon Muir.
Admission to the event is $50 per person, with the doors set to open at 5:30 p.m. Castle Creek Golf Club is located at 5191 Lum Rd.
The Gala will feature the nominees for this year’s Citizen of the Year, Merit Award and Organization of the Year winners.
This year’s nominees for Citizen of the Year include Teresa Richey, Gjon Marku, Jim Schoonover, Joe DeLuca and Bruce Milnes.
Merit Award nominees include Jaason Bishop, Vicki Sefcovic and Julie Chrysler.
Nominees for the Organization of the Year nominees include Imlay City American Legion Auxiliary, Imlay City Jazz Band Club, and the Officer Kevin Homer Scholarship Foundation.
Imlay City Area Chamber of Commerce Director Chris Bishop expects a big turnout and lots of fun for all attendees.
Bishop encourages attendees to attire themselves in semi-formal wear and be prepared to dance the night away.
Musical offerings
The entertainment lineup features music by D.J. Travis Alexander and a live show to feature Imlay City’s own Steve London appearing as Dean Martin.
