Andrew “Andy” Childers-Dombrowski, age 43, of Attica, MI (he lived in Eagle, Alaska for eleven years), died Monday, January 30, 2023 at his home. Andrew Felix Childers – Dombrowski was born August 24, 1979 in Lapeer, MI. He was the son of Andrew and Annette (Childers) Dombrowski. Andy grew up in Attica, MI. He earned his GED from Imlay City’s Venture High School. Shortly after high school, Andy moved to Alaska.
He was a self-taught and self-employed auto mechanic. Andy was an outdoorsman and woodcutter. He sold and supplied wood for heating and cooking to many in the Eagle, AK community where he lived. He enjoyed snowmobiling and he loved living in Alaska (especially hunting, fishing and living off the land). Andy will be remembered for his kind heart, his sense of humor, and the love of his family.
Andy is survived by his sons, Jager, Cameron and Jesse; mother, Annette Dombrowski; his sister, Angela Childers of Fairbanks, AK; grandmother, Beatrice Kreiner of North Branch, MI; and his grandfather, Oscar Childers of Beattyville, KY. Also surviving are many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Andrew Dombrowski (summer of 2022); and his grandparents, Felix and Susie Dombrowski.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, February 8, 2023 at Imlay City Church of the Nazarene, 404 N. Almont Ave., Imlay City, MI. Pastor Gabriel Marquez, pastor of the Imlay City Church of the Nazarene, will officiate. The family will be available for visitation 11 a.m. – 1 p.m., Wednesday, February 8 at the Imlay City Church of the Nazarene.
A Celebration of Life is being planned for August 2023.
