Richard “Ricky” Moss, age 65, of Deford, MI died Tuesday, January 3, 2023 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Richard Robert Moss was born July 2, 1957 in Detroit, MI. He was the son of the late Willie and the late Kathleen (Fussel) Moss. Ricky grew up in Imlay City, MI. He was a graduate of Imlay City High School, Class of 1975. After high school, Ricky attended trade school in Hazel Park, MI and earned his associate degree in Robotics Programming. Ricky married Susan Kay Sherman on September 11, 2004 in Deford, MI.
Ricky was employed as a mold machine operator for Grupo Antolin (they make headliners for automobiles) before retiring in 2020. Earlier in his career, Ricky was employed by Toyo Seat in Imlay City, MI. Rick enjoyed fishing, hunting, fast cars, and especially spending time with his family.
Ricky is survived by his wife, Susan James-Moss; daughter, Crystal (Brian “Peeler”) Kelley of Cass City, MI; step-children, Shawn (Sheri) Sherman of Saginaw, TX, Niecole (Sean) Smith of Minden City, MI, Heather (Joe) Platzer of Deford, MI, Jason (Kimberley) James of Deckerville, MI, Cody (Kay) James of Sebewaing, MI and Rita Ramirez of Cass City, MI. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Kylee Kelley and Brian Kelley; several step-grandchildren; his siblings, JoAnn (Dean) Ford of Romeo, MI, Annabelle Patton of San Bernardino, CA, Alphonso Moss of Imlay City, MI, Ida Moss of Imlay City, MI, Mary Moss-Cushingberry of Sterling Heights, MI, Sandra Moss of San Bernardino, CA, and Catherine Moss of Sterling Heights, MI; brother-in-law, R.J. Nettles of Imlay City, MI; sisters-in-law, Lasharna Moss of Kansas and Marilyn Moss of Detroit, MI; his extended family and special friends, the Burkes family and Scott Bosch; and many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews.
Rick was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Kathleen Moss; brothers, Tom Moss and Willie Moss; his sister, Lillian Nettles; and his brother-in-law, Hershel Cushingberry.
The funeral service for Ricky was held Sunday, January 8, 2023 at Muir Brothers Funeral Home of Imlay City, 225 N. Main Street, Imlay City, MI. Pastor Phillip Burkett, pastor of Cass City Missionary Church, officiated.
Arrangements were entrusted to Muir Brothers Funeral Home of Imlay City.
