Eliodoro “Lolo” Gutierrez, age 83, of Imlay City, MI died Monday, January 2, 2023 at Serene Gardens Assisted Living of Imlay City, MI.
Eliodoro Gutierrez was born June 19, 1939 in Bruceville, TX. He was the son of the late Felix and the late Lucianna (Martinez) Gutierrez. Eliodoro grew up and lived all of his life in Imlay City, MI. He attended Imlay City High School. Lolo married Carmen Avalos. He was preceded in death by his wife, Carmen, in 1999.
He proudly served in the United States Army. Eliodoro was employed at an assembly line worker by Buick Motors in Flint, MI before retiring in 2000. Lolo liked to play cards, go to the casinos, and playing guitar. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and was a member in the church choir.
Eliodoro is survived by his daughter, Brenda (Jesus) Morones of Montgomery, IL; sons, Efren Gutierrez of Ann Arbor, MI and Javier (Kelly) Gutierrez of Naperville, IL; his step-daughter, Margaret (Joe) DeLuca of Imlay City, MI; and his sisters, Guadalupe Rivera of NJ and Oralia Gutierrez of Sandusky, MI. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Michael, Dustin, Emily, Jesus, Luis, Noah, Ashley, Daniella and Diego; and his great-granddaughter, Emilia.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Carmen Gutierrez; companion, Esther Guerrero; and his brother, Jimmy Gutierrez.
The funeral was held Friday, January 6, 2023 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 700 Maple Vista, Imlay City, MI. Interment followed at Imlay Township Cemetery.
Arrangements were entrusted to Muir Brothers Funeral Home, 225 N. Main Street, Imlay City, MI.
