ALMONT — Almont handed visiting Detroit Southeastern a 40-19 setback in a non-league varsity girls’ basketball encounter on Tuesday, December 20.

With the final, Almont improves to 2-4 this season.

In Tuesday’s encounter, Almont jumped out to a 9-3 advantage after one quarter was complete.

The middle two quarters saw Almont generate 24 total points and Detroit Southeastern net 12, pushing their lead to 33-15 with 24 minutes gone.

Almont then outscored Detroit Southeastern 7-4 the rest of the way, good for a 40-19 win at night’s end.

Kendall Roszczewski (12 points, including a trifecta) led Almont that evening, She was backed by Lydia LaCavera (10, featuring a pair of treys), Jesse Kautz (10, with a triple), Grace Koenig (five), Ava Panduren (two) and Lauren Webster (one).
