CAPAC — The Capac wrestling team improved to 4-0 overall and versus Greater Thumb Conference rivals with wins against Ubly and Sandusky last Wednesday at home.
Capac started their two-match stint with a 60-12 victory over Ubly.
Cierra Helzer and Luca Longo led Capac with triumphs via the pinfall route. Helzer took 4:50 to stop 113-pound foe Jenna Stambaugh and Longo needed 1:01 to defeat Lillian Michalski at 120 pounds.
Gabe Peters (106), Ryan Grant (132), Brandon Szuch (138), Adam Kramer (144), Ricardo Molina (150), John Schoen (157), Matthew Grant (165) and Thomas Clower (175) added wins by void to Capac’s cause.
Capac also picked up a 51-6 victory over Sandusky.
Jeff Helzer and Kramer paced Capac with victories by pin. The former required 2:52 to beat 120-pound counterpart Joey Nix and the latter needed 2:32 to best Jacob McKenny at 150 pounds.
Peters (106), Tyler McKenney (113), Ryan Grant (126), Schoen (157), Everett King (165) and Clower (175) provided Capac with triumphs by void.
Szuch rounded out the list of Capac grapplers who posted favorable outcomes. He pulled out a 14-13 win against Alex Bags at 138 pounds.
