John T. Dluge, age 78, a longtime resident of Almont, passed away December 4, 2022. He was born August 8, 1944 the son of Robert and Mildred (Defer) Dluge in Mt. Clemens. He graduated from L’Anse Creuse High School in 1963. John married his beloved wife Karen Schroder on September 24, 1971 in Mt. Clemens. He worked at Ventcon, Inc., for 48 years as a superintendent. He ran two to three crews daily at the plant. John was a self taught artist. He could draw anything. He also designed and made stained glass windows and lamps. One lamp he made weighed 65 pounds and was 2000 pieces; the design was purplish-pink forsythia. John also enjoyed fishing in Mt. Clemens and the family cottage in Kalkaska.

He is survived by his loving wife, Karen, of Almont; daughter, Debra Ann (Greg) Silveira of Cass Lake; grandchildren, Teri-Lynn Smith of Waterford, Roger Moore of Waterford, Sierra Dluge, Tanner Dluge; and three great grandchildren. Also surviving are siblings, Audrey Gottschalk, Judy (Jon) Lyon, Mickie (Ron) Bridge, Donald (Deanna) Dluge, Susan Lloyd, Henry (Pat) Dluge, Jackie Woznak, Geri Fox, Theresa (Thom) Black and Elizabeth (Chuck) Sepesi.

He is predeceased in death by his beloved son, Steve Dluge, in 1999; and four sisters, Shirley McCollom, Ella Lawson, Barbara Stroup, Marion Dluge; and one brother, Thomas Joseph Dluge.

Memorial visitation will be held on December 16, 2022 from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m.

A Memorial Celebration of Life service will be held at 1 p.m. with Pastor Tim Martin officiating.
