Dear Editor,
Imlay City Eagles are proud to announce that they were able to give 19 veterans free haircuts and a bite to eat. There was also a raffle of different items that each veteran was able to enter. They could win certificates towards a meal, gas cards, Starbucks, and Kroger gift cards. Veterans came from Imlay City, Cass City, Metamora, Attica, Columbiaville and Almont. It was a good turn out for the Eagles first one.
Thank you to all that donated their time cutting hair and bringing the chairs for them to use. Thank you to Cubby Grondin, Christopher Schenkel, Chris Schenkel, Kelli Schenkel for donating their time cutting hair and doing this for us.
A big thank you to all that donated their time, food donations and being there to help. Food donations came from Pizza Machine, Jets Pizza, Tim Hortons, Better Made Potato Chips, Dryden Bar and Grill, Christian Farden, Drake Macomb, Logan Macomb, Karla Dahn, Kelly Nagy Cramer, Charlie Boadway. Others that donated their time was Betty Rozek, Teresa Anderson, Dave and Sue Sump, Betty Mason. There are many more supporters for this. If we forgot to mention you, we are sorry but know that we appreciated you.
Donna Broda was the chairperson for this event. Thank you. Hopefully we can do this next year for our veterans.
