CAPAC — The Capac varsity girls’ basketball team provided David Fredrick with a win in his debut as their head coach, handing host Carsonville-Port Sanilac a 28-20 non-league setback on Tuesday, November 29.

In Tuesday’s battle, Capac took a 10-6 edge after one quarter was over with.

Quarter two saw Carsonville-Port Sanilac counter with an 8-6 edge. That trimmed their deficit to 16-14 at the half.

When the action resumed, Capac bounced back with a 6-4 third quarter advantage. That left them holding a 22-18 advantage with 24 minutes gone.

Capac then outscored Carsonville-Port Sanilac 6-2 from that point on, assuring themselves of a 28-20 win at night’s end.

Chloe Schocke led Capac with 10 points, including a pair of trifectas. The Chiefs also received points courtesy of Makayla Phillips (eight), Julia Schaefer (six) plus Nevaeh Mason and Nolynn Allen (two each).
