Candace Young, age 77, of Columbiaville, MI, died unexpectedly Wednesday, November 30, 2022 at her home. Candace Kay Hall was born June 12, 1945 in Norwalk, CT. She was the daughter of the late George and the late Frances (Cale) Hall. At a very young age, Candace lived in Florida until moving to the Imlay City, MI area as a child. She was a graduate of Dryden High School, Class of 1962. Candace married Edward Young on December 1, 1962. She and Edward moved to Columbiaville in 1972, where she’s lived since. Candace was preceded in death by her husband, Edward, on April 15, 2007.

She was a homemaker, raising her family. Candace volunteered at Lapeer County General Hospital as a nurse’s aide.

Candace enjoyed traveling, fishing, and most of all, spending time with Ed and her family.

She is survived by her son, James (Michelle) Young of Imlay City, MI; grandchildren, Josh (Rachel) Young of Attica, MI and Alissa Young of Imlay City, MI; her great-grandchildren, Harper and Noela; and her friend and daughter-in-law’s mother, Iris Schmitz of Imlay City, MI.

Candace was preceded in death by her parents, George Hall and Frances Hall-Holt; her beloved stepfather, Harold Holt; brother, George Waverly Hall; her stepbrother, Richard Holt; and stepsister, Judith Lynn Holt.

The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, December 8, 2022 at Muir Brothers Funeral Home of Imlay City, 225 N. Main Street, Imlay City, MI. Pastor Brad Standfest, pastor of Almont Vineyard Church, will officiate. Interment will follow at Imlay Township Cemetery.

The family will be available for visitation 3-5 p.m. and 6-8 p.m., Wednesday, December 7 and 10 a.m. -1 p.m., Thursday, December 8 at Muir Brothers Funeral Home of Imlay City.
