Sharon Kemp, 78, of Imlay City, MI died Friday, November 25, 2022 at Lapeer County Medical Care Facility (also known as Suncrest) of Lapeer, MI. Sharon Ann McLeod was born April 28, 1944 in Brown City, MI. She was the daughter of the late Frank and the late Lucille (Seaton) McLeod. Sharon has lived most of her life in the Brown City and Imlay City area. She was a graduate of Brown City High School, Class of 1962. She married William Kemp on September 14, 1962 in Brown City, MI.
Sharon had worked as a school bus driver for Brown City Schools for several years. She had also worked for Lindy’s Pre-packed Carrots in Imlay City for a few years. Sharon enjoyed driving her children to school and school events, sewing, making crafts, painting, and baking. Sharon and Larry spent a lot of their retirement years traveling all around the country and beyond (Caribbean cruises and trips to Branson, MO).
She is survived by her husband, William Kemp; son, William Allen (Sandra) Kemp of Clinton Twp., MI; her daughters, Julie (Troy) Mettie of Livonia, MI and Pamela Lombard of Paw Paw, MI; brother, Jim (Jean) McLeod of Brown City, MI; and brother-in-law, Terry (Lori) Kemp of North Branch, MI. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Darci K. Barrera, Travis W. L. Kemp, Tyler A. Kemp, Brianna L. Suddon, Mark A. Mettie, Douglas W. Lombard, and Alexander Lombard; and great-grandchildren, Abi, Kenzi, Holden, Maverick and Kinsley.
Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Lucille McLeod; and her sister, Joyce (Bill) McNary.
The funeral service was held Tuesday, November 29, 2022 at Muir Brothers Funeral Home of Imlay City, 225 N. Main St., Imlay City, MI. Pastor Rodney Sanderson-Smith officiated. Burial followed in Valley Center Cemetery, Brown City, MI.
