Capac’s Ben Rodriguez picks up the pace in the NJCAA Half Marathon.

CAPAC — Capac’s Ben Rodriguez competed for the St. Clair County Community College men’s cross country team at the NJCAA Half Marathon on Tuesday, November 15.

The race was contested in Tallahassee, Florida.

Rodriguez, who was making his debut over the 13.1 mile distance, crossed the finish-line 1:22:04 after the race got underway. That left him fifth on the St. Clair County Community College squad and 84th overall.

Iowa Central Community College sophomore Aspel Kiprob was the race pacesetter. He required 1:07:12 to cover the territory.

With Rodriguez’s help, St. Clair County Community College placed 13th out of 19 schools that day.
