TRI-CITY AREA — From the opening match until the last, these athletes set themselves apart from the rest with their outstanding play.
Here is a look at who earned a spot on the 2022 edition of the Tri-City Times All-Area volleyball lineup and the numbers they produced along the way:
Hope Schriber, Imlay City.
Schriber provided Imlay City with 289 kills during the 2022 campaign.
The 6-1 senior middle hitter also contributed 77 digs, 51 assisted blocks and 21 solo blocks to Imlay City’s cause.
It took her 118 sets to generate those numbers.
This was her third year on Imlay City’s varsity.
Schriber, who has signed with Madonna, concluded the 2022 campaign as an All-Blue Water Area Conference first team selection and an All-Region first team choice.

Emma Keeping, Imlay City.
Keeping furnished 306 kills this fall.
The 5-10 right side hitter also registered 204 digs, 67 ace serves plus added 34 assisted and three solo blocks.
It took the freshman 120 sets to amass those credentials.
Keeping ended her debut season on Imlay City’s varsity as an All-Region pick and an All-Blue Water Area Conference second team selection.
Natalie Stone, Imlay City.
Stone supplied Imlay City with 449 digs during the 2022 campaign.
The 5-7 senior libero also contributed 36 ace serves and six kills to Imlay City’s cause.
It took her 109 sets to produce those numbers.
This was her third year on Imlay City’s varsity.
Stone completed the 2022 campaign as an All-Region choice and an All-Blue Water Area Conference second team pick.
Makayla Bruman, Imlay City.
Bruman amassed 804 set assists this fall.
The 5-10 freshman setter also managed 237 digs, 74 ace serves, 43 kills plus 20 assisted and one solo block.
It took her 120 sets to generate those numbers.
Bruman wrapped up her initial season on Imlay City’s varsity as an All-Blue Water Area Conference first team selection.
Lexa Forti, Imlay City.
Forti generated 290 digs during the 2022 campaign.
The 5-7 junior outside hitter also collected 287 kills, 60 ace serves plus 11 assisted and three solo blocks.
It took her 120 sets to produce those numbers.
This was her third year on Imlay City’s varsity.
Forti finished the 2022 campaign as an All-Blue Water Area Conference second team choice.
Lydia LaCavera, Almont.
LaCavera generated 312 kills this fall.
The 5-9 junior outside hitter also furnished 288 digs, 37 service points and 24 blocks.
It took her 128 sets to produce those numbers.
This was her second year on Almont’s varsity.
LaCavera finished the season as an All-Blue Water Area Conference honorable mention pick.
Julia Schaefer, Capac.
Schaefer accumulated 326 set assists during the 2022 campaign.
The 5-7 senior setter also contributed 288 digs, 72 kills, 61 ace serves and 13 blocks to Capac’s cause.
This was her fourth season on Capac’s varsity.
Schaefer wrapped up the 2022 campaign as an All-Greater Thumb Conference second team selection.
Grace Koenig, Almont.
Koenig wound up with 807 set assists this fall.
The 5-9 senior setter also provided Almont with 195 digs, 125 kills, 51 service points and 37 blocks.
It took her 128 sets to produce those numbers.
This was her fourth season on Almont’s varsity.
Koenig concluded the season as an All-Blue Water Area Conference honorable mention choice.
Addie Tresnak, Dryden.
Tresnak provided Dryden with 85 kills during the 2022 campaign.
The 5-8 senior outside/middle hitter also contributed 86 service points, including 21 aces, and two blocks to Dryden’s cause.
This was her second year on Dryden’s varsity.
Tresnak ended the 2022 campaign as an All-North Central Thumb League Stars Division first team pick.
She was also named the recipient of her team’s Best Offensive Player Award at the Dryden Volleyball Banquet.

Coach of the Year– For directing her team to to a 34-14-4 overall mark and an 11-3 Blue Water Area Conference record (good for second), Imlay City Coach Rachel Van Dyk earns Tri-City Times All-Area Coach of the Year accolades.
