Donald C. Dick, age 99, of Imlay City, MI died Sunday, November 13, 2022 at his home in Imlay City, surrounded by his loving family. Donald Dick was born June 8, 1923 in Pointer, KY. He was the son of the late William and the late Gertie (Spaw) Dick. Donald grew up in Pointer, KY. He married Beverly Charbeneau on November 25, 1948 in Mt. Clemens, MI. Donald and Beverly lived over 60 years in the Imlay City area. Beverly died on Sept. 24, 2007.

Donald served in the Army Air Corps during World War II and became a part of the U.S. Air Force throughout the Korean War (April 1943 to July 1952). His reserve duty ended in 1960. During World War II, he earned the European Theater Ribbon with five Bronze Stars, Good Conduct Medal, Air Medal with 6 Oak Leaf Clusters, and the Distinguished Unit Citation. When Donald mustered out of the Air Force as a Staff Sergeant, he had survived combat duty with the 487th Bomber Squadron of the 340th Bomber Group. He was a member of the Imlay City Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Donald was an electrician for 30-plus years for Pontiac Motors Division of General Motors at the Engine Plant in Pontiac, MI. After retirement, Donald enjoyed traveling with his beloved wife around the country and to his Air Force reunions. His spare time was spent wood carving, painting, and mowing his lawn (he was very proud of the appearance of his property and enjoyed making it look beautiful).

Donald is survived by his daughters, Delma Robberstad of Imlay City, MI and Darla (Bill) Vonderheid of Columbiaville, MI; and sons, Darrell (Lori) Dick of Imlay City, MI and Dana (Gail) Dick of North Branch, MI. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Heather (Chris) Torre, Jeremy (Jamie) Lehl, Marissa Robberstad, Josh (Melissa) Dick, Garrett (Jackie) Dick, Janel (Jay) Eagle, Darren Dick, Allison (Rene) Santana, Andrea (Aaron) White, Megan Vonderheid; great- grandchildren, Davin Lehl, Kacen Lehl, Andrew Campis, Jacob Campis, Ashley Garlick, Emerson Dick, Ashlyn Dick, Mason Dick, Wyatt Eagle, Willow Vonderheid, Paige Robberstad, Ryan McCoy, Raycelyn Hart, Ryliyah Hart, and Amelia White; great-great-grandchildren, Braden, Adelyn, and Quinton; his brother-in-law, Henry Charbeneau; several nieces and nephews; and his beloved companion, Pinto Pete (his dog). Donald was preceded in death by his wife, Beverly Dick; daughter, Donna (Ron) Lehl; and his sisters, Faustine Roy and Fannie Marie Abbott.

The funeral will be held at 11:30 a.m., Thursday, November 17, 2022 at Muir Brothers Funeral Home of Imlay City, 225 N. Main Street, Imlay City, MI. Jerry Schriber will officiate. Entombment will follow in Imlay Township Cemetery.

The family will be available for visitation 2-5 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, November 16 and from 10-11:30 a.m. Thursday, November 17 at Muir Brothers Funeral Home of Imlay City.
