Dear Editor,

My name is Amy Bosma. I am a 1989 graduate of Imlay City High School, and I have taught in Imlay City Schools for 28 years. My two children are also graduates of ICS, in 2014 and 2018 respectively. I truly love the Imlay City Schools community because of our wonderful students, parents, and our rich, diverse culture which makes us so unique. Our diversity makes us better.

Another thing that sets us apart is our strong leadership. Our district has avoided many problems experienced by other districts because we have those educational leaders. Thanks to community support, we are in the final stages of building a state-of-the-art performing arts center and making safety and structural improvements in each building. Our finances remain fiscally stable, and our graduation rates and curriculum are thriving.

All of those accomplishments are due to those strong leaders which is why I would like to endorse Doug Van Dyk, Kaylee Kaeding, and Ashley Campbell to continue as members of the Imlay City Schools Board of Education. All three members have provided excellent leadership and made sound decisions regarding our school district while also listening to input from educators and the community alike. THAT IS TRUE LEADERSHIP!

Please support Imlay City Schools by voting YES on the non-homestead renewal and restoration AND voting to re-elect Doug Van Dyk, Kaylee Kaeding, and Ashley Campbell to the Imlay City school board on November 8.

Thank you,
— Amy (Sak) Bosma
