Betty Voss, age 94, of Attica/Metamora, MI died Thursday, September 8, 2022 at McLaren Lapeer Region Hospital in Lapeer, MI. Betty Jean Stenzel was born August 5, 1928 in Imlay City, MI. She was the daughter of the late Frank and the late Edith (Woodley) Stenzel. She grew up in Imlay City and was a graduate of Imlay City High School, Class of 1946. She married Robert Voss on June 20, 1947 in Romeo, MI. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob, on December 2, 2009. They lived most of their lives in the Imlay City, Almont and Attica areas.
She was mostly a homemaker, raising her family. She worked as a young lady at Tietz Dairy Bar in Imlay City and at Hurd Lock in Almont for a few years. She was a fixture at the annual Attica United Methodist Church Harvest dinners, in the dessert area, cutting pies. She enjoyed her family, gardening, baking, canning what she raised, sewing “Dresses for Africa” and others, and knitting.
Betty is survived by her daughter, Kendra Almendarez of Attica, MI; sons, John (Christine) Voss of Dryden, MI and Mark (Lydia) Voss of Attica, MI; twelve grandchildren; and fourteen great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Voss; daughter, Janine Voss; sisters, Mary Lou (Bud) Brewer, Donna (Merlin) Eineder, Sharon (Richard) Morse; and her brother, Harmon Stenzel.
The funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m., Wednesday, September 14, 2022 at Muir Brothers Funeral Home of Imlay City, 225 N. Main Street, Imlay City, MI. Reverend Ronald Rouse, pastor of Attica United Methodist Church, will officiate. Interment will follow at Attica Township Cemetery.
The family will be available for visitation from 10-11:30 a.m. Wednesday, September 14 at Muir Brothers Funeral Home of Imlay City.
