Parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles of Imlay City High School seniors—Project Graduation needs your help!

For those who aren’t quite sure what Project Graduation is all about, here’s a brief history. A decade or two ago, kids were graduating and then heading out to parties and celebrating on their own. Sadly this lead to the loss of far too many young lives. The Project Graduation Lock-in Party was created to give the seniors a safe environment where they could all celebrate together.

Throughout the year, parents, families and friends come together to raise funds to cover the cost of the event. It can be a little overwhelming, at times, but keeping the common goal in mind helps. What also helps is having as many people pitch in as possible. As the old saying goes, “Many hands make light work.”

Just as what has been done in past years, we want to give these kids an amazing night, full of fun and great memories. In the past, the kids have enjoyed inflatables, indoor laser tag, a mechanical bull, mini slot car racing, photo booths, along with live entertainment. It’s really incredible what we can pack into the high school.

But, we can’t do all of this without you! Any help is appreciated. Get the word out to other senior parents. Invite them to follow the Imlay City Project Graduation Facebook page. You’ll make a difference, I promise.

Our next meeting is scheduled for September 19 at 6 p.m. and will be held in the high school audeteria. Please join us!

Until then, you can help out with mum sales, saving and collecting bottles and cans for our returnable drive, share the Facebook page and its posts and invite others to follow the page.
