
Capac’s Annabelle Schneider returns a shot Saturday at the SC4 Showcase.
CAPAC — The Capac varsity volleyball registered a second-place finish Saturday at the SC4 Showcase Tournament in Port Huron.
Capac opened tournament action with a 25-9, 25-10 pool play win against New Haven. That was followed by a 22-25, 25-17, 15-8 victory over Cranbrook; a 9-25, 9-25 loss to Lapeer; and a 25-15, 25-19 win against Peck.
Those results netted Capac a semifinal assignment against Cranbrook. It was there Capac picked up a 25-13, 25-17 victory.
Capac then faced Lapeer for tournament honors next. That battle drew to a close with Lapeer up by a 25-19, 25-20 count.
Julia Schaefer furnished 60 digs and Kenadee Malloy amassed 54 digs to lead Capac. The remaining Chief digs went to Annabelle Schneider (32) Neveah Mason (28), Skielar Tesnow (17), Cathy Williamson (15), Liviya Tank (14), Sam Killingbeck (10), Bella Wetter and Madalyn Roberson (six each), Gracie Klink (five), Anna Klein (three), Neveah Mason (two) and Rachael Mirling (one).
Klink (two) plus Klein and Schaefer (one each) provided Capac’s blocks.
Schaefer (17), Schneider (10), Killingbeck (five), Tank (four) along with Roberson and Williamson (two apiece) supplied Capac’s ace serves.
Schaefer (50), Tank (three), Mirling (two) and Roberson (one) had Capac’s set assists.
Klink, Roberson and Williamson (four each), Killingbeck (three), Schaefer and Tank (two apiece) plus Schneider, Tesnow and Mirling (one each) added Capac’s kills.
