ALMONT — The Almont boys’ soccer team kicked off their season with a convincing 9-1 win against New Haven in a non-league encounter last Wednesday afternoon.

In Wednesday’s encounter Almont bolted out to a 5-1 halftime advantage.

They then outscored New Haven 4-0 the rest of the way, finishing off a 9-1 win.

Pjeter Lucaj (assisted by Tyler Brown), Brown (set up by Lucaj), Lucaj (unassisted), Lucaj (unassisted) and Bashkam Sinishtaj (unassisted) supplied Almont’s opening half goals.

Lucaj (unassisted), Jesse Saavedra (unassisted), Patrick Nuculovic (unassisted) and Lucaj (unassisted) added second half goals to Almont’s cause.

Bain Abithiera got the win in net for Almont. He was credited with nine saves.
