IMLAY CITY — In the aftermath of the city’s “boil water” advisory, the Imlay City Police Department seeks to ensure residents are informed of future emergencies through the city’s “emergency alert and notification system.”
To assure that information is made public as soon as possible, the police department urges all residents to sign up for emergency Nixle alerts by texting their zip code to 888777.
Police Chief Brett Selby said emergencies can include any situations that might impact the public safety, including severe weather alerts and traffic advisories.
“Getting the information out to the public is the key,” Chief Selby said. “I feel this water emergency served as a valuable test run for what could be an even more serious incident in the future.”
