2022 events runs Aug. 15-20
TRI-CITY AREA — In honor of its 150th anniversary, the Armada Fair has added an array of historic demonstrations and events into their 2022 schedule of events.
The fair kicks off on Monday, August 15 and runs through Saturday, August 20.
The special events include blacksmith, yarn spinning, glass blowing, hand quilting, wood turning and weaving demonstration. Visitors can also see historical reenactments and multiple performances by Irish dancers. A special display, found in the dairy barn, will feature fair artifacts and memorabilia. On Sunday, August 14, the day before the fair starts, the Armada Agricultural Society will host a 150th celebration parade in downtown Armada starting at 1:30 p.m.
Daily events include the Chainsaw Men of Michigan, the Comedy Farm Magic Review, Animal Oasis and Animal Adventure shows.
Livestock shows and judging will take place throughout the week and culminate with the Youth Livestock Sale at 4 p.m. on Friday.
The grandstand schedule is as follows: concert by Aaron Lewis and the Stateliners on Monday, Monster Trucks on Tuesday, Demolition Derby on Wednesday, Bump & Run on Thursday, Super Kicker Rodeo on Friday and Tractor and Truck Pulls on Saturday.
Also on the schedule are free children’s activities, eating contests, live music and carnival rides and games courtesy of Big Rock Amusements.
Admission is $10 for adults, $5 for kids 10-12 years and kids 9 and under are free. Daily parking is $5 per vehicle and grandstand events are free.
Tuesday, August 16, is Military Service Day and Senior Day. Service members can get free admission with a current i.d. card and admission is reduced for senior citizens, 62 and over, to $8 per person.
