TRI-CITY AREA —The Foster Oilers 15U softball squad, which lists Imlay City’s Lexa Forti and Almont’s Lydia LaCavera on its roster, went 3-1 at the USSSA SE National Championships in Nashville, Tennessee this past week.
The team began their tournament stint Tuesday, July 5 with a 4-3 win against Oklahoma Grit 16U.

Emmi Hildreth, Cami Trendy, Tori Nugent, Lydia LaCavera, Cameron McDonald, Tabitha Furlin, Mia Simons, Lexa Forti, Jordan Fiedler, and Gabby Basic helped Foster Oilers go 3-1 in Nashville.
Foster Oilers then went to 2-0 with an 8-7 victory over Buckeye Heat-Fyffe 16U, out of Ohio, on Wednesday.
Thursday’s action saw Foster Oilers drop a 5-4 verdict to SI Aftershock-Martin 16U, from Illinois.
They then bounced back Friday with a 10-7 triumph against Eclipse 16U, out of Arkansas, in a game that required the international tiebreaker to determine who prevailed.
The remainder of the tournament was called off due to to poor weather.
Forti and LaCavera were joined on the Foster Oilers by Emmi Hildreth (Richmond), Cami Trendy (Port Huron), Tori Nugent (Grosse Pointe), Cameron McDonald (Chesterfield), Tabitha Furlin (St. Clair), Mia Slimons (Marine City), Jordan Fiedler (Port Huron) and Gabby Basic (Marysville).
