Desmond Wilfred Bauman Jr. 73, of Almont, passed away on Thursday July 7, 2022.
He was born on April 2, 1949 in Detroit, the son of Desmond Wilfred Bauman, Sr. and Olga (Kolesnikoff) Bauman. He was a 1967 graduate of Bellville High School and moved to Almont to be with the love of his life, Arlene D’Arcy. He married Arlene D’Arcy on October 10, 1970 in Almont.
Des was an avid horse lover with his loving wife, Arlene. He did hay and straw most of his life then began digging ponds, D&N Ponds, then becoming a truck driver. He loved going fishing at the ponds, watching the deer and the wildlife.
Des is survived by his daughter, Kelly Jo Keyes; his grandchildren, Racheal, Zack (Ayla) and Chelsee (Steve) Berger; great-grandchildren, Noella and Lennon; his brother, Daryl (Pat) Bauman; and sister-in-law, Sharlene Henderson. Also survived by nephews, Brad (Karen) Bauman, Joe, Mike (Marlene) and Derrick Mastie and Mike (Myra) Henderson; two nieces, Christina (Brandon) Tikkanen and Erin Ussery; and many great-nieces and nephews.
Des was preceded in death by his loving wife, Arlene Bauman; his parents, Desmond Wilfred and Olga Bauman Sr.; and his sister, Paula LaRowe.
Visitation will be held Wednesday July 13, 2022 from 4-7 p.m. at Muir Brothers Funeral Home in Almont.
