Chase, Payton, Bryson and Mila Battani excelled at the Meijer State Games recently.

ALMONT — The Battani family, of Almont, excelled at the track and field portion of the Meijer State Games recently.

East Kentwood is where the meet was contested on Saturday, June 25.

Payton Battani led the way that day, bringing home three first-place finishes. He won the pole vault (6 feet), javelin (78 feet 9 inches) and 50 dash (8.83 seconds) in the 7-9 age group.

Bryson Battani came in first in the pole vault (4 feet) and javelin (28 feet 9 inches) and third in the 50 dash (11.32 seconds) among six-year-old contestants.

Mila Battani, a four-year-old, took first in the javelin (11 feet 3 inches) and fourth in the 50 dash (13.46 seconds) in the 6 and under age group.

Chase Battani added a first in the pole vault (13 feet) and third in the long jump competition (18 feet 5 inches) among 14-16-year-old contestants.
