TRI-CITY AREA — From the first meet until the last, these athletes came through with top-notch performances each time out.
Here is a look at who made the 2022 edition of the Tri-City Times All-Area girls’ track team and the accomplishments they registered along the way:
Name: Gracie Klink
School: Capac
Year: Junior
Event: High jump
Best effort: Klink cleared 5-0 four times this season.
The first time she achieved the clearance was on Friday, May 13 en route to a first at the Bad Axe-based Hatchet Invite.
She would repeat the feat a week later while tying a second at a Division 4 regional in Marlette.
In addition to that, Klink went 5 feet en route to a third Tuesday, May 31 at the Caro Meet of Champions and matched that clearance on the way to a ninth Saturday, June 4 at the Division 4 state finals in Hudsonville.
Top finishes: Klink took firsts at the Brown City Invitational and Bad Axe-based Hatchet Invitational; claimed an outright second at the GTC East League Meet hosted by Brown City and shared a second at a Division 4 regional hosted by Marlette High School; generated a fifth at the Reese Invitational; registered a sixth at the Vassar-based Hurd Invitational; plus supplied a ninth at the Division 4 state finals in Hudsonville.
Name: Sydney Livingston
School: Imlay City
Year: Junior
Event: Pole vault
Best effort: Livingston cleared 8 feet twice this spring.
The first time it happened was Friday, May 6 when she took second versus Blue Water Area Conference foes North Branch and host Algonac.
She also cleared the height Tuesday, May 10 en route to seventh at the Anchor Bay Invite.
Top finishes: Livingston registered a fifth at the North Branch-based Lapeer County Press Invitational; generated a sixth at a Division 2 regional in Frankenmuth; furnished sevenths at the Anchor Bay Invitational and Davison Twilight Classic; plus provided a 10th at the Lapeer Lightning Invitational.
Name: Montserrat Coronel
School: Almont
Year: Sophomore
Event: Long jump
Best effort: Coronel posted a performance of 14 feet 11 inches en route to first Tuesday, May 10 during a Blue Water Area Conference meet with Richmond and host Yale.
Top finishes: She claimed a second at the Richmond-based Blue Devil Invitational and Shake Off the Rust Invitational in Davison; registered fourths at the Davison Twilight Classic and North Branch-based Blue Water Area Conference League Meet; provided a sixth at the Norb Bader Classic hosted by Carmen Ainsworth; wound up eighth at the Marlette Invitational; plus added an 11th at the Cass City Invitational.

Best effort: Aldrich managed a toss measuring 35 feet 5 1/2 inches for first at the Greater Thumb Conference League Meet on Tuesday, May 17.
Top finishes: She obtained a first at a Marlette-based Division 4 regional; took second at the Thumb Meet of Champions in Caro and Green Devil Invite in Brown City; supplied thirds at the Brown City Invitational and Bad Axe-based Hatchet Invitational; furnished a fourth at the Marlette Invitational; collected fifths at the Vassar-based Hurd Invitational and Reese Invitational; plus added a ninth at the Division 4 state finals in Hudsonville.

School: Almont

Best effort: Rinke let the weight implement fly a distance of 111 feet 3 inches en route to a third Tuesday, May 31 at the Norb Badar Classic hosted by Carman Ainsworth.
Top finishes: She collected firsts at the Cass City Invitational, Marlette Invitational, Cavalier Classic, Davison Twilight Classic and at a Bad Axe-based Division 3 regional; obtained thirds at the Blue Water Area Conference League Meet and Carman Ainsworth-based Norb Badar Classic; plus tacked on a 19th at the Division 3 state meet hosted by Kent City High School.

Event: 100-meter dash
Best effort: Johnston raced to a time of 12.63 seconds for first at the Blue Water Area Conference League Meet on Tuesday, May 24.
North Branch High School is where the meet was contested.
Top finishes: Johnston supplied firsts at the Davison-based Shake Off the Rust Invitational, Marlette Invitational, Richmond-based Blue Devil Invitational, Cavalier Classic, Davison Twilight Classic and a Division 3 regional hosted by Bad Axe High School; plus added a seventh (good enough to earn All-State accolades) at the Division 3 state meet in Kent City.

School: Almont
Year: Junior
Event: 100-meter hurdles
Best effort: Brady registered a clocking of 18.9 seconds for fifth Tuesday, May 24 at the Blue Water Area Conference League Meet.
North Branch High School is where the action unfolded.
Top finishes: Brady took thirds at the Davison Twilight Classic and Richmond-based Blue Devil Invitational; claimed fifths at the Davison-based Shake Off the Rust Invitational, Blue Water Area Conference League Meet in North Branch and Carmen Ainsworth-based Norb Badar Classic; plus added a ninth at the Cavalier Classic.

School: Almont
Year: Junior
Event: 200-meter dash
Best effort: Johnston supplied a school record-setting performance of 25.49 seconds en route to a first at a Division 3 regional hosted by Bad Axe on Saturday, May 21.
She collected firsts at the Cass City Invitational, Shake Off the Rust Invitational in Davison, Marlette Invitational, Richmond-based Blue Devil Invitational, Cavalier Classic, Davison Twilight Classic, a Bad Axe-based Division 3 regional and the Blue Water Area Conference League Meet hosted by North Branch; plus obtained a second (good enough to claim All-State plaudits) at the Division 3 state finals hosted by Kent City High School.

School: Dryden
Year: Sophomore
Event: 300-meter hurdles
Best effort: Peter posted a clocking of 51.04 seconds for 13th at the Hudsonville-based Division 4 state finals on Saturday, June 4.
Top finishes: She contributed a first at the Davison-based Shake Off the Rust Invitational; provided a second at the Peck-based North Central Thumb League Meet; ranked third at a Division 4 regional in Marlette; took fourth at the Vassar-based Hurd Invitational; plus added a 13th at the Division 4 state meet in Hudsonville.

Best effort: Lengemann stopped the watch at 1:03.51 for fourth Tuesday, May 31 at the Caro-based Thumb Meet of Champions.
Top finishes: She took second at the Davison Twilight Classic; claimed thirds a the Shake Off the Rust Invitational and Anchor Bay Invitational; obtained a fourth at the Caro-based Thumb Meet of Champions; collected a fifth at the Lapeer County Press Invitational in North Branch; provided a sixth at the North Branch-based Blue Water Area Conference League Meet; and added a seventh at the Lapeer Lightning Invitational.

Best effort: Sliman registered a clocking of 2:31.03 en route to a seventh at a Frankenmuth-based Division 2 regional on Friday, May 20.
Top finishes: She took second at the Anchor Bay Invitational; obtained fourths at the Shake Off the Rust Invitational in Davison and North Branch-based Blue Water Area Conference League Meet; pulled up fifth at the Thumb Meet of Champions in Caro; collected a seventh at a Frankenmuth-based Division 2 regional; plus added a 10th at the Lapeer County Press Invitational in North Branch.

Best effort: Kline took ninth with a 6:07.83 clocking Tuesday, May 24 at the North Branch-based Blue Water Area Conference League Meet.
Top finishes: She pulled up third at the Davison Twilight Classic; obtained fourths at Davison-based Shake Off the Rust Invitational and Blue Devil Invitational in Richmond; notched a fifth at the Norb Badar Classic hosted by Carmen Ainsworth; furnished a seventh at the Marlette Invitational; collected a ninth at a Division 3 regional in Marlette; took 10th at the Cass City Invitational; and added a 14th at the Cavalier Classic.

Best effort: Kline turned in a clocking of 13:22.46 en route to a fourth at the Richmond-based Blue Devil Invite on Friday, April 29.
Top finishes: She provided a third at the Davison Twilight Classic; took fourth at the Richmond-based Blue Devil Invite and the Shake Off the Rust Invitational in Davison; obtained a fifth at the Marlette Invitational; claimed sixths at the Cass City Invitational and at a Division 3 regional in Bad Axe; registered a seventh at the North Branch-based Blue Water Area Conference League Meet; and supplied a 10th at the Cavalier Classic.

Best effort: No matter what the lineup Almont Coach Jamey Wade opted to utilize, success was sure to follow.
They were at their quickest on Tuesday, May 24 when a group consisting of Devin Johnston, Montserrat Coronel, Paige Feldman and Chloe Brady stopped the watch at 52.78 seconds en route to a first at the North Branch-based Blue Water Area Conference League Meet.
Top finishes: Almont’s team of Johnston, Coronel, Feldman and Brady claimed firsts at the Davison Twilight Classic; North Branch-based Blue Water Area Conference League Meet and were 15th at the Division 3 state meet hosted by Kent City.
An Almont lineup including Christy Trisler, Johnston, Coronel and Feldman provided a first at a Division 3 regional hosted by Bad Axe.
Almont’s team of Elly Schapman, Coronel, Feldman and Johnston obtained firsts at the Davison-based Shake Off the Rust Invitational, Marlette Invitational and Blue Devil Invitational; plus took sixth at the Cavalier Classic.
Also, an Almont lineup of Madison Niedermaier, Coronel, Feldman and Johnston added a second at the Cass City Invitational.
Team: Delaney Wolle, Keira Miller, Sophia Peter and Olivia Stickler.
Years: Sophomore, freshman, sophomore and sophomore
Event: 800-meter relay.
Best effort: A team consisting of Delaney Wolle, Sophia Peter, Keira Miller and Olivia Stickler posted a 1:53.91 time for 13th Saturday, June 4 at the Division 4 state finals in Hudsonville.
Top finishes: A team consisting of Kierstyn Stankevich, Wolle, Miller and Stickler obtained a first at the Peck Invitational; Dryden’s usual lineup of Wolle, Peter, Miller and Stickler placed first at the Shake Off the Rust Invitational, Deckerville Invitational, Peck-based North Central League Meet and a Division 4 regional hosted by Marlette; plus furnished a 13th at the Division 4 state finals in Hudsonville.

Best effort: An Imlay City team of Ana Lengemann, Ang Ross, Elizabeth Sliman and Mary Lengemann registered a clocking of 4:30.08 for sixth at the Caro-based Thumb Meet of Champions on Tuesday, May 31.
Top finishes: Imlay City’s team of Ana Lengemann, Mary Lengemann, Ross and Sliman took third at a Frankenmuth-based Division 2 regional and North Branch-based Blue Water Area Conference League Meet; placed sixth at the Thumb Meet of Champions in Caro; and were seventh at the North Branch-based Lapeer County Press Invitational.
An Imlay City lineup of Sydney Livingston, Ana Lengemann, Mary Lengemann and Sliman added a second at the Davison-based Shake Off the Rust Invitational; plus a team of Mary Kaminski, Ana Lengemann, Mary Lengemann and Livingston tacked on a fourth at the Lapeer Lightning Invitational.
