Sharon Lee (Bresky) Fuerst, age 75, a resident of Metamora, passed away Wednesday, June 29, 2022 at home surrounded by her family. She was born October 16, 1946, the daughter of William and Edna (Moeller) Bresky, in Detroit. After graduating from Port Hope High School, she married her beloved husband, Arlington Fuerst, on June 3, 1967 in Port Hope. Sharon’s family was her passion, as she attended many sporting and academic events for her children and grandchildren. Her love of horses started with her children being in 4-H. Then, she began to raise and breed thoroughbred racing horses with her late husband, Zeke. Years later she showed miniature horses with her daughter, Julie, and her granddaughters, Rachel and Jaclyn. Sharon’s love of the outdoors allowed her to camp with her children and grandchildren during the summer. She also enjoyed quilting with her aunts and sister. Her hands were always busy, which led to her love of gardening and yard work. She raised many pets over the years and was an animal whisperer always, caring and rehabilitating wild animals. Sharon’s nurturing and kind spirit lives on her in family and will be missed by many.
She is survived by her beloved children, Julie (Jim) Hellebuyck of Almont, Ryan (Kelly) Fuerst of Dryden, Stacy (John) Wernis of Rochester; and loving grandchildren Rachel, Jaclyn, Mason, Jake, Carson, Ava and Alec. She is also survived by her sister, Linda Schave of Port Hope; and her brother, Marvin Bresky of Port Austin; and several nieces and nephews. The family finds comfort knowing she has been reunited with her husband Zeke who recently passed away April of this year.
The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 6, 2022 at 10 a.m. with viewing from 9 a.m., at Muir Funeral Home & Celebration of Life Center, 2650 S. Van Dyke, Imlay City, MI 48444. Burial will be made at Metamora Cemetery.
