Almont’s Ava Panduren brings the ball up the field in a soccer match. Panduren will play at MSU in 2024.
ALMONT — Almont’s Ava Panduren ended speculation as to which school she was planning to attend, recently announcing her commitment to join the Michigan State women’s soccer team in the fall of 2024.
In addition to Michigan State University, Panduren was also being recruited by Michigan, Bowling Green, Xavier, Cincinnati, Syracuse, LSU, Louisville, Kentucky, Kansas and Grand Valley State University.
Ava has been playing travel soccer with Nationals Girls Academy the past three years. The team is based in the Auburn Hills Area.
National Girls Academy plays in the Girls Academy League and have been undefeated in their conference (Mid America Conference) the past two years. Their conference is made up of high level teams hailing from Michigan, Illinois, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Ohio, Pennsylvania and West Virginia. They also travel throughout the United States for college showcases.
“MSU has been my dream school,” Panduren commented, “It is a flourishing program under the direction of coach Jeff Hosler,” she noted.
“I attended an ID camp there last winter and everything felt right. I clicked with the coaches and current players and I had no doubt that this was where I wanted to play in college. I am so excited and happy they are giving me this opportunity.”
