Summer concerts at Almont Park will begin Thurs., July 14

 

ALMONT — The Almont Park Board has announced the schedule for this year’s “Music in the Park” summer concert series.

The Park Board’s 2022 summer concert series at Almont Community Park kicks off at 7 p.m. Thursday, July 14, with a performance by Almont native Bob Marshall and his band.

Those wishing to attend the free concerts at the park pavilion are encouraged to bring along their own blankets and lawn chairs to enjoy the shows, which run through 9 p.m.

Almont Lions Club members will be inside the park pavilion selling refreshments to raise funds for various community causes.

Following is the complete concert schedule, which runs through Thurs., Sept. 8.

•July 14: Local favorite Bob Marshall and his band will perform country, cowboy songs and unforgettable stories.

•July 21: Wax up your surf boards because Surf Zup will make a return visit to the park to play popular “summer” and “beach” songs, originally performed by the likes of The Beach Boys, Jimmy Buffet, The Surfaris, Ventures, Trashmen and more.

•July 28: White shirts and bowties will be abundant when the Lapeer Symphony Orchestra performs classical music and more.

•Aug. 4: Get ready to stomp your feet to the Jason Charles Band, who will perform a variety of classic rock and country selections.

•Aug. 11: The Hackwells will made a return performance to Almont Park, performing harmonious versions of great folk and Americana music.

•Aug. 18: This week’s entertainment has yet to be determined.

•Aug. 25: Husband and wife Sally and Chris Eilerson perform familiar easy-listening songs from Bob Dylan, James Taylor and others.

•Sept. 1: Rock of Ages returns to play their diverse catalog of big band and classic rock.

•Sept. 8: Vitale and the Verdicts take the stage to play music from the ’70s, ’80s and ’90s.
