On Thursday, May 26, the Class of 2022 graduated from Dryden High School. The evening began as a beautiful candlelight ceremony due to a widespread power outage. Lights came on shortly into the program.
The commencement was deeply meaningful as the seniors and their families celebrated coming through the pandemic with solid educations and hope for their futures thanks to the dedicated faculty and staff at Dryden High School.
At the conclusion of the formal portion of the evening, the seniors capped their high school years with an All Night Party. The party was put on by a parents’ committee in order for the seniors to have a safe, fun, drug- and alcohol-free way to celebrate this major milestone and say goodbye to classmates by creating more memories.
The parents’ committee held many fundraisers throughout the year in order to cover the costs of this amazing night.
This activity would not have been possible without the generous support of many donors. These donors include, but certainly are not limited to: Paul Abromaitis of Hideaway Lanes in Almont; Advance Scraping Company; Almont Lions Club; American Tree; the Jones family of Imlay City Dairy Queen; Dryden Athletic Boosters; Four County Community Foundation; Grondins Hair Center; Maris Brown Insurance Group; Meijer Lapeer; Metamora Lions Club; Mill Street Station of Dryden; Noffert Dental; Roza’s Pizza of Almont; Veda’s Uniques & More; Vinckiers Almont; Warnars Chiropractic; and the Lapeer County Community Foundation. The Lapeer County Community Foundation manages 70 funds to provide grants for a wide range of charitable purposes. Since 1996, over $5 million has been given to enhance the quality of life in Lapeer County.
Parents, grandparents, family, and friends put in many hours of their time and miles on their vehicles to support this project and make it an epic success. Everyone involved worked with the sole intention of ensuring the seniors stepped onto the paths they have chosen with the reminder that they are always welcome home where they are loved and cherished. Congratulations Dryden High School Class of 2022!
