TRI-CITY AREA —The Capac girls’ track team collected a pair of top-ten finishes and Dryden supplied four top-15 showings last Saturday at the Division 4 state finals.
Baldwin Street Middle School, in Hudsonville, is where the meet was contested.
Muskegon West Michigan Christian (52 points) paced the field assembled. Mount Pleasant Sacred Heart (48 points), Frankfort (39), Fowler (35), East Jackson (32), Buckley (25), Indian River Inland Lakes, Athens and Maple City Glen Lake (24 each) along with Hillsdale Academy (22) registered top-ten showings as well.
Gracie Klink, high jump, 5 feet; and Abby Aldrich, shot put, 34 feet 4 inches; led Capac with ninths.
The 400 relay of Juliana Closurdo, Aria Nealy, Bella Wetter and Klink also represented Capac that day. They were 20th in 56.06 seconds.
Olivia Stickler, 100-meter dash, 13.65 seconds; and Sophia Peter, 300 hurdles, 51.04 seconds; paced Dryden with individual event 13ths.
The Dryden 800-meter relay of Delaney Wolle, Keira Miller, Peter and Stickler were 13th as well. They stopped the watch at 1:53.9.
Stickler, 400 dash, 1:04.47; added a 15th to Dryden’s cause.
