
The Capac softball team won a title at the Jimmy Johnston Tournament in Peck last Saturday.
CAPAC — The Capac varsity softball team went 3-0 en route to a top finish last Saturday at the Jimmy Johnston Tournament in Peck.
In the opener, Capac obtained an 8-5 triumph against Peck.
Cerenity Helzer (a single and a homer) and Chloe Schocke (a pair of singles) led Capac. They were backed by Skielar Tesnow, Madalyn Roberson, Chloe Moran, Annabelle Schneider, Jewel Rickman, Paige Hansen and Rachael Mirling (a single each).
Roberson was the winning Capac pitcher. She allowed 10 hits, struck out eight and walked three.
Capac followed that up with an 11-10 victory over Ubly.
Schneider (three singles), Hansen (a pair of singles), Tesnow (a single and a double), Roberson (two singles), and Helzer (one single) furnished Capac’s hits.
Tesnow and Roberson shared the pitching responsibilities for Capac. They gave up nine total hits, struck out seven and walked six.
Capac then wrapped up their unbeaten day with a 9-5 triumph against Marlette.
Schneider (three singles), Moran (a pair of singles) and Tesnow (a single) provided Capac’s hits.
Roberson was the winning Capac pitcher. She allowed seven hits, struck out four and walked three.
