Patricia “Pat” Muir, age 90, of Imlay City, MI died Sunday, May 1, 2022 at St. Joseph Mercy Oakland Hospital of Pontiac, MI. Patricia Ann Hayden was born April 30, 1932 in Lum, MI. She was the daughter of the late Frank and the late Beatrice (Simmers) Hayden. Pat grew up in Lum, MI. She lived most of her life in the Imlay City, Attica and Lum, MI areas. Pat was a graduate of Lapeer High School, Class of 1950. She married Merlyn Muir on April 28, 1951 in Lum, MI. She was preceded in death by her husband, Merlyn, on April 9, 2019.
She was employed as an executive assistant, bookkeeper, and secretary by Lapeer Mushroom Farms for 20 years. For a short period of time, Pat was a telephone operator for Michigan Bell Telephone Company.
Pat was a member of the Lapeer Eagles and the Lapeer Moose Lodge. When her kids were younger, Pat helped with their Girl Scout troops. She was a certified horse trainer, loved horses, and even worked at the Detroit Race Course for a short period of time. She loved to go gambling, going on many bus trips to the casino. Pat enjoyed watching the Red Wings and Viper hockey games.
She is survived by her daughters, Janet (Dan Madden) Muir of White Lake, MI and Linda Ankley of Lapeer, MI; grandchildren, Ginger (Donald) Lockrey, Wesley (Tanya Ferrett) Phillips, Melanie Phillips, Sean Ankley, Kelly (Gary Paquette) Ankley, Kevin (Caitlyn Crone) Madden; and her great-grandchildren, Hadyn Phillips, Oliver Wagner, Aliyah Reyna, Addison Paquette, Brianna Wagner, Kyle Wagner, Matthew Paquette, Whitney (Tony Thompson) Harvey, Tiffany Harvey and Onyx Tinsler.
Pat was preceded in death by her husband, Merlyn Muir; and brother, George Oviatt.
The funeral will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, May 5, 2022 at Muir Brothers Funeral Home of Imlay City, 225 N. Main Street, Imlay City, MI. Interment will follow at Imlay Township Cemetery.
The family will be available for visitation 2-5 and 6-8 p.m., Wednesday, May 4 and 11 a.m. – 1 p.m., Thursday, May 5 at Muir Brothers Funeral Home of Imlay City.
