Tigers squeeze out a 9-7 BWAC win

ALMONT — Almont dropped a 9-7 verdict to visiting Armada in a Blue Water Area Conference varsity baseball clash spanning nine innings last Wednesday.

With the outcome, Almont slips to 0-2 versus BWAC rivals and overall.

In Wednesday’s clash, Armada took advantage of a one-run first inning; a two-run second; a two-run third; a two-run seventh; and a two-run ninth to prevail.

Almont countered with a one-run first inning; a two-run second; a one-run third; a one-run fifth; and a two-run sixth.

Liam Webster (three singles and a double), Trenton Kruse (three singles) and Caydon Nascivera (two singles) led Almont with multiple-hit performances. The Raiders also had Cody Koval (a double), plus Tyler Filinger and Brandon Hunsaker (a single) reach the hitting column.
