IMLAY CITY — The Imlay City Schools Performing Arts program is excited to announce their spring production of “You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown.”

Based on the comic strip, Peanuts, written by Charles Schultz, Charlie Brown and the entire Peanuts gang explore life’s greatest questions as they play baseball, struggle with homework, sing songs, swoon over their crushes, and celebrate the joy of friendship.

In addition to an ensemble of over a dozen middle and high school students, lead roles will include:

•Junior Cassie Verellen as Charlie Brown

•Junior Veronica Vaubel as Snoopy

•Junior Mandy Granz as Lucy

•Sophomore Cora Fox as Sally

•Junior Winnie Mutch as Linus

•Sophomore Hayden Hartman as Schroeder

The district reports that students have been very busy learning lines, fine tuning choreography, and practicing their singing.

“This is the first musical that Imlay City has done. If you join us for this event, you’ll be able to see the construction progress on our new Performing Arts Center and join us in looking forward to our performances taking place there in future years,” the district said in a press release.

Performances take place on May 6 and 7 in the Imlay City High School Auditeria at 7 p.m. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $10 for the general public and $5 for students and will be available at the door.
