Anthony “Tony” Skerske, age 81, of Attica, MI died Thursday, April 14, 2022 at St. Joseph Mercy Oakland Hospital in Pontiac, MI. Anthony Theodore Skerske was born October 5, 1940 in Detroit, MI. He was the son of the late Theodore and the late Rose (Okon) Skerske. Tony grew up and attended school in Detroit, MI. He married Susan Norris on May 18, 1968 in Centerline, MI.
He was employed as a pipe fitter by General Motors – Gear & Axle in Hamtramck, MI for 30-plus years before retiring.
Tony was a member of the Detroit Sportsman’s Congress in Shelby Township, MI. He enjoyed hunting as a younger man.
He is survived by his wife, Susan Skerske of Attica, MI; and his sister, Patricia Karwowski of Macomb Township, MI.
Tony was preceded in death by his parents, Theodore and Rose Skerske and his brother, Harold Skerske.
A funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, April 21, 2022 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 700 Maple Vista, Imlay City, MI. Reverend Fr. Noel Cornelio, pastor of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, will officiate. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery, 18201 Clinton River Rd., Clinton Twp., MI.
The family will be available for visitation 10-11 a.m., Thursday, April 21 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
