ALMONT — Devin Johnston opened the season with an impressive performance, winning a pair of events for the Almont girls’ track squad last Friday at the SVSU Indoor Invitational for Div. 3 and 4 schools.

No team scores were kept at the meet.

Johnston took the 60-meter dash with room to spare. She crossed the finish-line 8.17 seconds after the race began, .39 seconds ahead of her closest pursuer.

In addition to that, Johnston paced all 200-meter dash entrants. It was there stopped the watch at 26.56 seconds.

Both of her performances were meet records.
