On January 29, 2022 at a rally held in Texas, former President Donald Trump stated that if he was elected president in 2024 he would pardon the insurrectionists who stormed the Capitol building in Washington, D.C. on January 6, 2021.
He said the people who destroyed parts of our Capitol building, threatened to hang former Vice President Mike Pence, capture House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and tried to stop the certification of the presidential election was because he and his supporters said the election was a fraud. So far more than 700 Trump supporters are now facing criminal prosecution for their attempts to overthrow the federal government.
After many lawsuits, the courts and many state governments have concluded that the election was fair and accurate. Results of the election were not accepted by Trump and his supporters so Trump whipped them into a frenzy believing he won the election and that message continues into current speeches he has made.
I have stated previously in a letter that Trump would say and do anything to get elected and stay in power. My predication has come to fruition and my hope is for all Lapeer County Trump supporters to realize he is using you, to have you contribute money to his election bank accounts. The “Big Lie” has no concrete validity.
I pray that Trump accepts the results of the last presidential election and stops his use of hate speeches and attempts to overthrow our great democratic institutions.
