Richard Lipka, age 82, of Imlay City, MI died Saturday, February 19, 2022 at his home in Imlay City. Richard Lee Lipka was born December 3, 1939 in Pontiac, MI. He was the son of the late Joseph and the late Betty Arlene (Tibbetts) Lipka. Richard grew up in Pontiac and attended high school in Pontiac. He married Donna Ruth Owen on May 14, 1960. Richard and Donna moved to Imlay City in 1985. Donna died on August 14, 2010.
Richard worked on many jobs over the course of 30 years at G.M. Truck and Bus in Pontiac (Inspector, test driver, etc.). He retired from General Motors Truck & Bus Assembly in the mid-1990s. He enjoyed golfing. In retirement, he would work mowing the grass at Castle Creek Golf Course to earn time on the course. Richard had been a member of the Imlay City Eagles Club.
He is survived by his daughters, Donna Patterson of Imlay City, MI and Pamela Lipka of Imlay City, MI; grandson, Ryan Patrick Patterson; his sisters, Beverly Vandagriff, Paula Lehman and Phyllis Parker; brothers, Joseph Lipka, Jr., Frank Lipka, Alan Lipka, Steven Lipka, Mike Lipka, Harry Lipka, John Lipka and Denny Lipka.
Richard was preceded in death by his wife, Donna Lipka in 2010; sister, Marty Swain; and his brother, Tim Lipka.
The funeral services were held Tuesday, February 22, 2022 at Muir Brothers Funeral Home of Imlay City, 225 N. Main Street, Imlay City, MI. Burial will follow in Dryden Center Cemetery, Dryden, MI.
