LAPEER — Gallery 194 is pleased to host the Michigan Art Education Association District 10 Art Show, now through Feb. 26. An artist reception will be held this Saturday, Feb. 12 from 12-4 p.m.

The show features selected pieces from students in grades K-12, and is always a local favorite.

“It’s a wonderful way to invite our kids and community into the gallery, letting students share their art and allowing us to see how much talent we have locally,” Gallery 194 said in a press release.

“This year’s featured pieces are made from everything from clay to fabric to acrylic, oils and more. Pieces range from abstract to landscape, self portraits to geometric designs, with talent displayed from beginner and award winning artists alike.”

Region 10 is comprised of students in Lapeer and Genesee counties. According to their website, the Michigan Art Education Association was founded in 1949 and has provided an exemplary networking opportunity and collegial support for visual art educators throughout Michigan ever since.

Gallery 194 is located at 194 Nepessing street in historic Lapeer, and is open noon- 6 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. For more information visit CenterfortheArtsLapeer.org or call 810-664-4824.
