James Edward Godbold, age 69, of Emmett Township, passed away Wednesday, December 15, 2021, at McLaren Port Huron Hospital.
He was born in Detroit, July 22, 1952, the son of the late James and Mary (McDonald) Godbold.
His marriage to Vivian Millmine was August 12, 1992, in Port Huron.
James was a 1970 Ferndale High School graduate. He later earned an associate degree as an industrial electrician at Macomb County Community college. James worked for Ford Motor company then began his career with Dupont in Mt. Clemens which later became Axalta Coatings. He had retired in 2014.
James enjoyed riding his Venture Motorcycle and his snowmobile. He had recently purchased an RV and had plans to travel with his wife. James was a talented man who could fix anything. He enjoyed helping his kids and friends fix their vehicles in his barn and he loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Surviving in addition to Vivian, his wife of 29 years; are six children, Kenneth (Connie) Godbold of Macomb, Dennis (Wendy) Godbold of Mancelona, Marie (Rob) Otzenberger of Waterford, Matthew (Brie) Godbold of Sterling Heights, Randy Lloyd of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, and Thomas (Alysha McMann) Lloyd of Washington Township; seventeen grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; two sisters, Catherine Culross of Ann Arbor and Melissa (Alfred) Brodzik of Caro; as well as several nieces and nephews, and many friends.
He was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Dave Culross, in 2014.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, December 28 at Capac United Methodist Church. Rev. Lisa Clark officiated. Burial took place in Christian Memorial Gardens West Cemetery, Rochester.
