The Ruth Hughes Memorial District Library will be hosting the Love YOUR Library silent auction February 2-9. This has become an exciting event, eagerly anticipated by patrons of the library as well as the entire community.

Friends, neighbors and businesses can donate their services, new items, antiques, gift baskets, jewelry, gift certificates or other items of value. The items are placed on display and using a special number, supporters of the library can bid on the items. Bidders can return from time-to-time to check on their bids and increase the amount if necessary. The highest bidder at the end of the auction receives the item. It is really fun and there is often a battle to be the last bidder on the final day.

The money raised will be used to purchase items and support programs for your library. People in the community are making great use of the library. It is busier than ever, whether for reading, story time, doing research, using the computer lab, or just enjoying the beautiful facility. Your library serves a vital role in your community. For many, your library provides the only access to computers and the internet for homework, job applications, and a link to the larger world. Your library also hosts many events for young children, teens, and adults including story time, crafts, computer classes, and guest speakers. We also participate in community wide events such as the Farmers Market, Winter Playground, and Attica Days.

Again, we need to ask for your help to make this a successful auction. If you are able to donate an item, a service or gift certificate, it would be greatly appreciated. Please call us at the Imlay City branch at 810-724-8043. Your donation can be picked up or dropped off at the library. Thank you for your support.

Sincerely,
—The Staff and Trustees of
