LAPEER — Because of the overwhelming success Those Dazzling Divas of Motown enjoyed at The New McCree Theatre during its Flint run, the theatre is taking the show on the road. Their first stop will be at The PIX Theatre, 172 W. Nepessing Street in Lapeer with a 7 p.m. performance on Friday, January 7 and 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. performances on Saturday, January 8.
During its run at McCree Theatre in Flint, Dazzling Divas was performed before large, enthusiastic audiences. A cast of 15 talented performers, five band members, and three additional singers will bring the history of Motown to The PIX stage in a musical show running 120 minutes.
According to Flint Area Theatres critic Karla Froehlich, (Divas) was “performed by a splendidly varied and talented ensemble. It delighted an appreciative and welcoming group of devotees and those newly introduced to the wonders of Motown at the “new” McCree Theatre,” she stated.
“There is a wonderful blend of expositional skits, narrative, and music put together to entertain, amuse, and educate.”
Dazzling Divas is a tribute musical to all of those girl groups and female solo artists who helped grow Motown into the giant it became.
