Capac’s John Schoen looks to register a win by pin versus Ubly last week.

CAPAC — The Capac wrestling team notched a pair of Greater Thumb Conference wins last Wednesday at home.

Capac began their two-match stint with a 53-6 win against Ubly.

Tyler McKenney, Derek Mason and John Schoen led Capac with wins by pin. McKenney needed 3:10 to down 112-pound foe Jenna Stambaugh; Mason required 1:22 to beat Kaden Vogel at 145 pounds; and Schoen took 1:24 to turn back 152-pound counterpart Theron Harris.

Ryan Grant (135), Eli Fleetwood (140), Everett King (160), Deinna Thibert (215) and MaLakai Kelly (285) provided Capac with victories by void.

Hunter Tyson collected the other Capac triumph, accomplishing that with a 20-5 outcome versus Logan Volmering at 189 pounds.

Capac also squared off versus Sandusky that evening.

When the final scores were tallied, Capac claimed a 42-24 win.

Jeff Helzer paced Capac with a victory by pin. Helzer needed 24 seconds to down Jacob McKenny at 125 pounds.

Tyler McKenney (119), Adam Kramer (140), Shane Clor (145), Schoen (152), Thibert (189) and Kelly (285) added triumphs by void to Capac’s cause.

With the results, Capac now stands at 3-1 overall.
