Entrants sought for Dec. 13 parade in Imlay City
IMLAY CITY — Returning for a second year is the Imlay Seniors Lighted Parade on Monday, December 13.
The parade was created last year as a way to bring some Christmas cheer to residents of local senior living facilities who had had limited contact with visitors in 2020 due to the pandemic. Organizers are hoping to re-create last year’s successful event with another parade in 2021 for seniors and staff at Maple Vista and Angela’s House.
Line up begins at 5:30 p.m. in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church parking lot, located at 700 Maple Vista. The parade begins at 6 p.m. and will travel through Maple Vista’s parking lot before proceeding to Angela’s House Assisted Living at 1839 S. Almont Ave.
Participants are encouraged to light up their vehicle, float or other entry. Playing Christmas music and displaying holidays signs and messages is also welcome. Those in the parade are asked to stay in their vehicle and not approach staff or residents. Any kind of handout will not be allowed. Donations and gifts can be brought but must be left with staff for disinfection before they can be distributed.
Those who plan to participate in the Seniors Lighted Parade are asked to register by calling 810-724-6300, ext. 622.
